Violence Reduction Small Grant Now Open!

We are proud to be working with the RBKC Community Safety Team to present our members with the Violence Reduction Small Grant.

The ambition of the small grants programme will be to support the aims of the RBKC Youth Violence and Exploitation Strategy. Our overall aim is to reduce the harm caused by youth violence and exploitation.

Each grant will support the work to protect young people who may be at risk of violence and exploitation. This will be through providing positive programmes and services that will help children build trusting relationships and receive messages about the risk of violence. By providing safe places the professionals providing services will also have a good understanding of support available for those at acute risk and specialist services that young people can be referred into. This will help to achieve the strategic aims to:

  • Identify and support victims
  • The Community are supported and engaged;
    • The community are skilled at spotting signs of risks and know how to report to services.
    • Young people have a voice into how to keep them safe.

The funding can be used to pilot new programmes or projects, or to increase the capacity of existing services that help with youth violence prevention and encourage diversionary activities.

The funding must be used to fund activities between 1 December 2022 and 31 May 2023. Young K&C plans to visit projects during February and March 2023.

To be eligible, you must be a:

  • organisation will need to be a registered charity or community interest company
  • member of Young K&C
  • currently working with children and young people, aged up to 25 who live or study in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
  • applying for funding to support those in or around the Notting Dale and St. Helen's wards

You can apply by completing the application form and sending it by email to info@youngkandc.org.uk. The deadline is Friday 18 November 2022 for funding to start in December 2022, for projects to be delivered between 1 December 2022 and 31 May 2023.

We hosted an information session with the RBKC Community Safety team to take members through the background and context of the grant. You can find the recording of the session here:

Organisation should engage children and young people at all stages of the application process they work with to identify need and the proposed benefits in the application.

Full guidance can be found here.

We look forward to your applications!
