Volunteer Minute Taker
Ignite Youth (formerly Ignite Trust) is a dynamic charity that works with at-risk and vulnerable young people (aged 11- 25) from disadvantaged backgrounds. We offer programmes which engage young people, build positive relationships and mutual support to empower individuals and to raise expectations for the future to transform lives.
Ignite is based at Holy Trinity Church in Wealdstone and as an organisation it maintains a strong Christian ethos, however we are faith based and not faith biased.
The Role
The trustee board has responsibility for governing the charity and directing how it is managed and run. The board meets four times a year to discuss and agree key decisions and actions. Meetings are held in the evening and last approximately 2 hours from 7:30 – 9:30pm, and take place either remotely or at our office at 1a Headstone Drive, Harrow, Middx HA3 5QX
The role is subject to our safer recruitment processes, which will include undergoing a disclosure and barring check and the provision of two referees.
The board is looking for an experienced minute taker to;
- Attend meetings and take an accurate record of the discussions
- Type up the minutes within an agreed time frame
- Send the completed minutes to the Chair of the Trustee board
- Make amendments to the minutes as required.
Experience, Skills & Abilities Required
• Experience of minute taking
• Excellent communication skills - written and spoken English
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Word
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and abide by GDPR and Safeguarding regulations
• A good eye for detail
Support and Supervision
• The Chair of Trustees will be the direct supervisor for this role
