Young Trustee Volunteer
This role will be voluntary, however Young H&F will cover the cost of any expenses and will reward the young person for their time, effort and commitment.

The young person who wants to join the board may be interested in
•Children’s and youth sector, what’s available in London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and how it is delivered.
•Supporting services for children and young people to improve.
•Charity fundraising and how to bring money to children and young peoples services.
•How to make sure a Charity is doing what it says and is supposed to be doing.
•How to make sure the charity improves on what is says and is supposed to be doing.
•Managing the charities finances.
•How the charity supports its staff team.
•How to make sure the charity never breaks the law.
•Developing confident communication skills.
•Making sure the board has different and new insights into the way young people can be connected.
•Creating a network to improve your own opportunities.
You will be expected to...
•Attend board meetings every six to eight weeks (around 8 meetings a year).
•You may be asked to do some reading before each meeting
•Take on occasional tasks that will improve Young H&F (this might be completing a small piece of research or reaching out to other young people to get their opinions about a particular issue or concern)
•Receive mentoring and training. We will make sure you are provided with an induction to what it means to be a trustee and we will allocate another board member to act as a mentor should you have any questions about your role, or to discuss how you can develop as a trustee.

•While you may not be expected to represent all young people within London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, your experience as a young person will bring much needed diversity of perspective.
