About Project
Premier League Kicks began as a pilot project in London between the Premier League and the Metropolitan Police in 2006, with a vision to "build safer, stronger, more respectful communities through the development of young peoples' potential". Since its inception Kicks has worked with over 250,000 young people across the UK. It is the flagship community programme the Premier League runs nationally. Its aim is to use football amongst other activities including basketball, cheerleading and cricket to bring communities together and engage with young people, getting to youngsters who had previously proven difficult to reach and guiding them towards a range of healthy and constructive activities. Chelsea FC Foundations Premier League Kicks programme was established in 2007 with the initial aim to reduce anti-social behaviour in the community. Through our free sports provisions to 8-18 year olds in South West London we aim to: Promote participation in sport in areas of high need Inspire and support young people to progress into positive pathways, building supportive relationships with one another and the authorities. Promote integration and champion equality, diversity and inclusion The Kicks programme offers activities at diversionary times to inspire young people to achieve their potential and improve their wellbeing while working together to build safer and more inclusive communities. All our sessions are delivered by FA Level 2 qualified coaches, many of which have come through the Kicks programme and have been supported by Chelsea FC Foundation and the Premier League to gain their coaching qualifications.Project runs weekly
