We believe that every young person deserves the chance to thrive. Our mission is to empower children, young people, and the organisations that support them by providing the support and opportunities they need to succeed. Over the years, we've worked closely with local members and partners to create a positive impact in Kensington and Chelsea.
Fund local voluntary organisations
Through our grants, Young K&C has empowered over 150 local voluntary organisations to expand their reach and enhance their services. By providing more than £1.5 million in grants, we've enabled these organisations to launch new programs, sustain ongoing projects, and address the pressing needs of our community.

Azza Supplementary School
Azza Supplementary School’s volunteer-led programme delivers core subjects to students as well as Arabic lessons and arts classes. Primarily working with a community of Sudanese, Moroccan, Eritrean and Somali descent, the supplementary school creates a community of local young people to increase educational opportunities. Through a small core grant, Azza Supplementary School completed 2 amazing pieces of work - creating their first website and becoming a registered charity. The unrestricted core funds provided financial freedom to Azza to complete development tasks that have previously been too resource heavy to complete, due to a lack of funds.
Advocate for the needs of the sector
Young K&C plays a crucial role in advocating for the needs of the voluntary and community sector, ensuring that the voices of our members and the young people they serve are heard by key policy and decision makers.
“This is what we expect for our infrastructural organisation to give us confidence and support to go forward” - Local voluntary organisation
We regularly engage with local authorities, businesses, and other stakeholders to highlight the challenges facing our sector and to push for the resources and support necessary to address them. Our advocacy efforts have resulted in greater recognition of the sector's vital role and have secured essential funding, policy changes and resource sharing that benefit our community.
Increase opportunities for children and young people
Through our programs and partnerships, we've connected thousands of young people with educational, recreational, and employment opportunities that they might not have otherwise had. Whether it's through skills-building workshops, sports activities, or creative arts programs, we've helped young people across Kensington and Chelsea develop their talents, build their confidence, and pursue their dreams
Young Ambassadors work with us to centre the needs of children and young people in our work. As an incredible group of young people, they distribute our funding, highlight the needs of local young people and take on social action projects in the community.
