About Organisation

Young Healthwatch Westminster is a small group of young volunteers, with a lot to say. We share a passion for mental health and a particular concern for the mental health of young people. We speak for ourselves, but also for the hundreds of young people we have heard from across Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.

As a group, we were formed a little over a year ago, and our early work has coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic. We use the evidence we have gathered from our mental health survey to challenge decision makers on how they design and deliver mental health support for young people, so that it fits the needs of young people locally. We also use this evidence to identify any gaps in current support and work to plug these gaps. We do this by working closely with the NHS, other youth groups, the local authority and more.

As a volunteer with us, you will You will have the opportunity to:

- Meet like-minded young people
- Conduct research and/or take part in research

- Present the experiences of local young people to NHS decision makers

- Be part of running online and offline events with other young people
- Access to training opportunities
- Write blogs for our website

And much moreā€¦
