Worlds End and Lots Road Big Local

Big Local is an exciting opportunity for residents in 150 areas around England to create lasting change in their communities. We have four priority areas which we base our projects around, which are: - Young People - Community Activities & Events - Creating a Welcoming Environment - Jobs, Training & Enterprise The people and organisations involved in the Big Local The Local Trust Big Local Trust was established by the Big Lottery Fund with a National Lottery grant. Local Trust’s mission is to enable residents to make their communities and their areas even better places in which to live. They do this by helping them develop and use their skills and confidence to identify what matters most to them, and to take action to change things for the better, now and in the future. The Big Local project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and managed by Local Trust. Nationally they work with a range of partners to deliver Big Local, providing expert advice and support for residents so that communities will be better able to identify local needs and take action in response to them. The World’s End and Lots Road (WELR) Big Local Partnership The WELR Big Local Partnership is made up of residents and Stakeholders who meet once a month to determine the best way to achieve the WELR Big Local’s stated objectives. Any local resident can become a member of the Partnership. The Local Trusted Organisation The charity Quaker Social Action (QSA) has been nominated and endorsed by the WELR Big Local partnership as the Local Trusted Organisation. In this role, QSA administers and accounts for the distribution of Big Local funding and the deliver activities or services on behalf of the partnership. Volunteers Volunteers are local residents who wish to get involved in the work of the WELR Big Local. This can range from running projects alongside the Partnership to simply helping out with various events and projects.
