Laptops for Learning

The importance of access to technology and online opportunities has been highlighted by Lockdown. But not all children and young people have good access to online learning. As a result many children are at risk of falling behind.

Young K&C is working with WestWay Trust and the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Schools to provide laptops and software to children who attend supplementary schools.

Supplementary schools provide vital opportunities for additional learning and support in English, Maths, Science, Life Skills and Languages, in addition to mainstream schools.

Supplementary schools are run by small local charities and volunteers. In Kensington and Chelsea Supplementary Schools give extra help to children, young people and families from African, Albanian, Arabic-speaking, Caribbean, Eritrean, Ethiopian, Georgian, Kurdish, Moroccan, Somali and Turkish communities.
