Announcing the Youth Empowerment Grant Programme (2025-2030)

Young K&C, in partnership with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) and John Lyon’s Charity, is thrilled to introduce an exciting initiative aimed at creating outstanding opportunities for children and young people in RBKC.

The Youth Empowerment Grant Programme (2025-2030) is designed to support the voluntary and community sector in delivering top-tier play and youth services. Our goal is to build and strengthen partnerships across the public, private, and voluntary sectors, ensuring that every child and young person in the borough has access to the support they need.

RBKC has committed £4,700,000 over five years, with Young K&C aiming to raise an additional £750,000 in match funding. This investment is part of RBKC’s broader vision for a Greener, Safer, and Fairer borough.

The Youth Empowerment Grant Programme offers three types of grants:

Main Grants

  • Total Fund: £757,500 per year
  • Duration: 3 years, with a potential 2-year extension
  • Purpose: supports core funding for play and youth services. Applicants must deliver on at least three of the five priority areas.

Small Grants (in partnership with John Lyon's Charity)

  • Total Fund: £100,000 per year
  • Duration: 1 year
  • Purpose: provides funding for shorter-term projects. Applications welcome for up to £8,000 or up to £10,000 is available for projects supporting disabled young people

Making Space

  • Total Fund: £50,000 per year
  • Duration: 3 years, with a potential 2-year extension
  • Purpose: Focuses on increasing opportunities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
