Aviva: Community Fund

Aviva has teamed up with the fundraising platform Crowdfunder to offer funding of up to £50,000 to small charities, schools and community interest groups in the UK with innovative ideas that benefit their community.

Building stronger, more resilient communities across the UK: that’s what we’re striving towards at Aviva, and it’s how we want to continue to help small charities and community causes.

We’ve learnt the causes that make the biggest impact are those that are given the opportunity to test innovative ideas and explore new sustainable strategies without fear of risk. That’s why the Aviva Community Fund backs the clever ideas that move communities forward and provides even more causes with vital support and resources.

To take part your project must:

  • Fall within one of our two key funding areas:
    • Climate Action: Promoting healthy, thriving communities by preventing, preparing for and protecting against the impacts of climate change
    • Financial Wellbeing: Helping people to take control of their wellbeing by giving them the tools to be more financially resilient and independent
  • Be raising funds to help:
    • Develop a new approach, product or technology; or
    • implement a new initiative or pilot a new scheme; or
    • expand existing services to a new area or beneficiary group; or
    • adapt services to meet today's needs without compromising those of future generations

All beneficiaries must be in the UK.

You have the option to set your project target up under one of two models:

Keep what you raise - meaning you get all pledges made by the end date, regardless of whether your initial funding target has been met, but you cannot continue fundraising beyond this date

All or nothing - meaning you have to reach your funding target by the end date but do have the option to continue fundraising if your target has not been met.

It’s therefore vital that you consider carefully what funding target you want to set. Too low and you won’t be able to realistically bring your idea to life; too high and you may be needlessly pushing your ambitions out of reach.
